In my 84 electrical manual it shows an option for the installation of a CB radio in the C-4. Does anyone on this forum have this option installed or has anyone even seen one installed? (pic would be nice if anyone has one)

Out of the 51K plus production run there were only 178 CB radios installed. The chances of finding one are pretty slim. I've never seen one. In 85 there were only 18 of the CB radio option sold!!

As I recall, the later C3 cars that had the CB option used a special combination radio/CB antenna with a load coil at the top.

In the "Black Book Bible" it shows RPO# UN8 AM-FM Sterio, Citizens Band--There were 178 Vettes made in 1984 with this option at a cost of $ 215.00. This was the first year for the C-4, the most inovative year yet. I have yet to see one with the CB optioin. If you can find someone to talk to with it good luck cause they all got cell phones growing out of their ears today.

If you're wantin a cb in your Vette i recommend an aftermarket with an am/fm/combo antenna, made by Harada...i installed the Delco and Audiovox years ago...the major drawback to the combo unit was your squelch knob controlled whether you heard tunes or an 18 wheeler, real darn frustating ! and also the mikes were huge...you can buy super small radios today for around 50$ and bolt it out of sight...i'd have to guess a used delco wouldn't have the power that a new unit would have either; plus you'd pay more than 50$ :cool
