Fellow C3 Owners,

I have a late build '71 (L15) LT-1 serial 194371S121701, with the yellow 'CB' emissions decal located beneath the 'AX' tuneup decal.

The NCRS Judging guide states that the decal is on all '70's and on '71 up to 1455 (if memory fails, which it probably has and will).

I was wondering who else out there has this decal, what year your car is and what your serial number is.

I'm just trying to understand why mine has one.

Thanks

Robert

Hey Robert,

The CB decal is the Fuel vapor control system decal. I've seen it listed for sale at various parts suppliers, but often wondered where it should be placed. Mine does not have it, but it looks like someone replaced the correct sticker on mine when they converted to an HEI distributor. So I 'm not sure if the CB sticker was ever on it. Mine was also a late build (L01) 194371S120864.

Steve,

Thanks for your response. I'm not sure if our late build cars should have this decal. Mine looks pretty old but not convinced of its originality. Here is a picture of how it is placed. Would like more input from others.

I took a pic of this (not very clear, I'm afraid) out of the Vette Vues Fact Book, page 193:

So, once again, there is conflicting information about something!
I have #3081, and do not have the emissions sticker, but it looks like I'm good either way. He he.

Rich,

Cool. If this is correct, I'm good. My version of the Fact book is from the early 80's. I think I should invest in a newer copy.

Thanks for the picture.

Robert.
