cd player

cd player in my 93 won't take cd on 1st try--keeps spitting it back out--after about 15 tries it takes it--anyone had this problem? do i need new cd player or possibly just a re-build? tried several diff cds --same problem with all of them

I had mine rebuilt about 6 months at Dr. Dons and love the results even plays read write cd's no prob...

I've had this problem - it appears to be dirt related. I use a CD cleaner disk and stick it in several times until it operates properly. This seems to last for a while.

If I'm not using the CD very much, the thing gets dirty and starts acting up like this again. The CD in the C4 is not very well protected from dirt and dust.

If it's bad enough, you may need to have it cleaned and checked by a professional.

If the problem is that it isn't reading a disc when you insert it, that would be probably be a cleaning issue.

If it isn't taking the disc at all, that sounds like something mechanical in the player, and a re-build may be necessary.
