hello, does anyone have an idea?

1982 collectors edition center console (standoffs) for screws that attach the power window switch

have broken off, both of them.

Does anyone have an idea how to glue something on?

I don't have the pieces, so I need an idea of what I could use to make them and what kind of

glue would have enough strength to hold them,

Spend the 40 bucks and buy 2 new ones...
you don't want it look like bubba got a hold of it.

(2) new what???? the standoffs are on the underside of the plastic console, would have to buy the whole console and them get it painted.

MY Bad ...I thought the ears on the switches broke...it where the screws attach to the console???

Purchase a reproduction console.

yes Bill it is the standoffs underneath where the switch sits and the screws go into.

Mike,that is the way to do it but I am trying to see if I can sav some money and work.

Console is about 50 plus shipping then I am sure I would have to get it painted.

Seems as though there would be a simple solution that I can't think of and maybe someone could.

That is why I threw it out here. Even I thought of buying a new console......lol

I think the key might be in the glue......I was thinkng that I could find some round plastic stock or even another material.

Cut to size,put in hole for screws....but is there a glue out the that would hold to this condition.

JB Water Weld..........You can Mould it,You can Grind it,You can Sand it,You can Drill it,You can Tap it,And you can even use it to attach a PVC pipe handle on your favorite 50 y.o. Sioux DA Sander after you accidentally run over it with a car and break the original aluminum one off! LoL!

Been on there for 15-20 years now!~!!

I would use a body filler with impregnated fiber glass (Kitty Hair) and use a large soda straw about 3/8" dia.for the mold. Let it set up and drill the screw holes. It should hold to the console pretty well.

O'Reilly's, AutoZoo & NAPA carries a two part epoxy that's made for gluing hard plastic interior parts. About $5.00. I used it on the plastic speedo & tach housing and the center console to repair broken screw mounts.
