Chambered and Side Exhaust Issues

Any body running chambered and side exhausts having problem with noise ordinances or law enforcement folks? Interested in your input.

I've got chambered...

...and my Lieutenant Sheriff in Criminal Investigations commented that he can hear me drive past his house before I even get there! :L

I know most of the force by name or sight, and they know my 78 since I'm a secretary at the Sheriff Office.
I haven't had any problems with noise, if I keep my foot out of it it isn't too bad. I don't think I am much worse than the big 4x4s around here for in-town noise. Perhaps you could find out what (if any) noise ordinances your area has and find decibel test results?
I always thought noise ordinances were for stereos...?

I'm a Mayor, I got chambered too, you can kind of understand why I was asking, good to hear from you, just wanted some input from various folks. There's rice burners making more noise than me.

Ah, the Mayor...

When we lived in WA state we belonged to a great car club that was open to anything that had a motor! Car, boat, 4x4, atv, snowmobile, motorcycle...you get the picture, it was friendly and fun. The club pres had 3 Gremlins, but we didn't hold that against him. The Mayor also belonged and he had an Avanti, an interesting car. I enjoyed that club because it brought a wide range of people together that would not ordinarily rub shoulders, and we had a great time.

As to the noise issue, being the Mayor perhaps you would have ordinances at hand to review and you could also ask law enforcement officers what their thoughts are on exhaust noise compared to stereo noise...
I still thought noise ordinances were for stereos...can you find out how many citations are issued for loud exhaust and what type of vehicle is the offender?

I've never had a problem and the cops are often hanging at the BK cruise in when I leave. I've heard plenty of 5.slows that are way louder than my chambers.

Hey Mike, it all depends on whether you've managed to make anyone in town angry at you -- especially the police dept!

But seriously folks, a middle-aged adult in a classic Vette is less likely to be hassled than kids with shaved heads driving riceboxes with thumping stereo and fart-can exhaust.

Got it together today still working getting it all lined up so
square tips look right, big crack in right hand exhaust manifold surfaced, I love these cars, fix one thing, then two things, better than a Harley.

Anybody know of shoty header system for 72s, I know the 90s have product.
