Does anyone run this set up? I am considering this on the 92 and would like some pro's and con's on this set up. thanks robert

I have it on my 78...

...and I love it!

I hope someone with a C4 has installed it and can give you feedback about its' application.

chambered exhaust is loud, and usually not a 'smooth' sounding exhaust. If you like the classic sound, it will suit you just fine. It will make your car sound mean. I would suggest just cutting off the mufflers first though. A local muffler shop can cut them off and put in straight pipe with new tips (or even keep your factory tips) for usually less than $100. The real question is what do you want to get out of an exhaust system? i assume price matters, but what else? are you just trying to get a better sounding 'Vette? or more power etc.?

sound is all i'm after. wife likes the sound of sidepipes, but i don't want to put them on the 92. power is not an issue as this is not a hotrod just a cruise around car. I felt the chambered exhaust would give the sound she was looking for with out having to put the sidepipes on. i prefer the undercar exhaust on the 92. robert

Just save the money and take it to a local muffler shop. All you need to do is cut out the two rear tail pipes. On my '93, I used twin angle cut tips on each side, on my current vette I had them cut the tips off the mufflers, and use them for tips.

I went with Muffler eliminators from Midwest , 120 buks with polished LT1 tips, had my Muffler guy weld it all up, gave him 80 buks, so total was $200 , and it sounds great, alot cheapier then Borlas.:beer

i heard the chambered exhaust last summer at funfest and didnt think they were loud enough so i removed the mufflers and center resonator. more of a midyear sound but with fifth and sixth gear the sounds drops to reasonable level.

I have the chambered exhaust system on my car and absolutely love it. (Santa was good to me last Christmas). The system on my car is the one that is featured in both the Eckler's catalog and the Mid-America catalog.

I did not want to cut into my factory exhaust, so adding the muffler eliminators or cutting off the resonator was not an option for me.

If you read the description in the catalogs, it advertises that the chambered exhaust sounds very much like a mid-year with side pipes, and I would have to agree with that. In my opinion, the factory system makes these cars sound like a Buick, the chambered system makes them sound as they should have out of the factory.

It is an aggressive sounding system. The idle has a nice throaty rumble to it and the revs are aggressive as well. Installing the system only left me with one question, "Why didn't I install it sooner?" :)

I agree with you in regard to the side pipes on a C4...just does not look right. If you are looking for an aggressive sounding system, this may be for you. It has more bite than the Corsa set-ups that I have listened to.

If you could listen to it in person, that would be ideal.
