I have a 2007 6spd Coupe with 2300 miles. At the 1700 mile mark I had installed Corsa Sport exhaust with the X pipe, no problems. Two days ago I had the local Chevrolet dealership (were I bought the car new) disconnect the 1 to 4 shift CAGS and cap the wire ends with parts I bought at the Corvette store. Today, while driving the car the check engine light came on and stayed on. Is this related to any of the above after market items? I have not taken the car in yet. Thanks for the response.

Rarely does the CAGS bypass throw a code. Only if it's defective or misinstalled. A "check engine" could be darn near anything. Let the dealership deal with it. How does your exhaust sound?

Not likely that anything you installed caused it.If it's not flashing, check your gas cap,and drop some dry gas into the tank,as you may have gotten a dose of bad gas in there or have a loose gas cap.

With ethanol as a standard in gas now the dry gas is just money wasted.

Vette's don't run on ethanol that I know of.CK.ENGINE LIGHT that is not blinking is an EMISSIONS code of some sort, bad gas being 1 possible source.

Just bought a new 07 and installed the CAGS bypass. The engine light went on right after the install and has been on until this past weekend when I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and reconnected. The light hasn't been on since.

I agree, let the dealer check it with their code reader.

The only thing is that if it is the bypass that caused it the dealer will charge for labor, but then again, it was the dealer that installed it. With that in mind, most certainly have the dealer check it out.

What I did was disconnect it for a week before installing the bypass. I just can't stand the 1st to 4th. The light was still on afterward, that's what probably trggered the engine light on mine.

Not sure if it works with C6 Vettes, but on the C5s, you could access the codes from the dash. I'd try that fist to confirm it is the CAGS before I wasted my time and money at the dealer just to have them tell me it was the bypass.

Drive it down to Advance or Auto Zone!! They have the Scanner to do it!! Or at least both have it around here!! And yes a loose gas cap will trip a code!!:upthumbs

Buy yourself a DIABLO PREDATOR programmer, turn your cags on and off at will and give the car a nice little tune at the same time!:D (and turn off CEL's!!)

Final had time to take the car back to the dealership. Gas cap was the problem. Pipes sound great! They really wake the car up. Especially when you put your foot in it. At cruise speed you can't tell much difference from stock. It has a nice tone when you roll out of the throttle as well. Thanks for the help.

Installed a Cags at 1500. I have 3500 on it now with no codes. Jeff
