Recently traded up from my 96CE to a 2000 coupe with 37,000 mi.An a alarm comes on when starting "Check ABS" and "Check Traction Control" I turn off the ignition and reset the alarm and the alarm disappears ,is there anything that would cause this to happen ,I might suspect the brakes but they seem fine , the car drives with no handling problems .Any help would be appreciated:confused

HI there,
I would suggest that you also check for codes. The procedure is here on this board.
Then, post them, and we can assist further.

My 98 use to display those same messages.

I took it to the dealership and they "Cleared the Codes", they said nothing else wrong with it.

I recently had this happen. Got a TCS code C 1214. I cleared the code. About two weeks later it came back. Any help on determing the cause?

Hi there,
Well, this is telling you that there is a power loss inside the EBTCM or the computer that controls your ABS.TCS.
This code is for a power relay located inside the module, that does NOT see power when it is supposed to.
A complete check of the wiring is critical to evaluate the condition, because as long as the 2 Maxifuses are good at the underhood electrical center, you will most likely have to replace the computer for the ABS/TCS

HI there,
Viet, you will have to have the ABS motor checked for function with a Tech 2, in order to determine the final diagnosis of your car. You may have to replace the motor/BPMV assembly, which is not cheap.
Please keep us posted, c4c5:hb
