While I still doubt he would have been a favorite to win the championship, his engine shop was definitely a weak link this year. Seems like most of his best runs this year ended early this way...although there's also they saying that fits here "they always run best right before they blow". Any short track racers out there will tell you there's truth to that saying, from DEI you would expect better though. Kind of ironically fitting that the same thing that had him struggling to make the chase knocked him out of the last race where he was fighting to make it. I'll be looking forward to seeing what he can do next year driving for Cheaters Inc.
