Choke (cough cough)

Hi all. I have a puzzling question I'd like to shoot out to everyone about electric chokes. Last year I had a new holley carb put on my 75 with electic choke. It never has worked & I always gotta play with the gas the first mile or two. It does has 12 volts going to it & there is ground from carb to engine. The intake is a holley street dominator alumium single plane. I have tried turning back & forth the little round piece on the side that didn't help at all. Will I have to get an intake that is dual plane or just go back to what I had with my old doulble pumper & add the manual choke.

Hi: I'll try a stab at your problem. From experience that I've had with electric chokes, your problem might be the chance that the spring inside the cap is not in correct contact with the choke plate lever & not opening or closing the choke plate at all. When you turn the cap, does the choke plate open or close at all? I hope I'm explaining this right. Dave::crazy
