First let me start by saying, Barry, I am so sorry to hear about your car. I'm sure we'll talk again soon and maybe I can drive down to your shop to meet you sometime and maybe escort you back towards home.
Next....my Christmas came for Easter! Took delivery of my 67 coupe (actually Friday before Easter, but didn't finish papers til Easter).
She's packin' a 427/400 with factory a/c, p/w, headrest seats, 4 spd(natch), 3:70 posi, SS exhaust, shoulder harness, telescopic wheel, bolt-ons on redlines and 53,278 ACTUAL miles. And I know this is gonna drive some crazy, but it is an actual trim tag correct Rally Red car.
My only problem has been that the transport company ground down part of the bolt-on wheel with a loading ramp (kinda looks like a curb rash grind..) anyone have any experience with settling a complaint with these companies? It was Kanter Auto Transport.
Other than that, the car is incredible and I've been waiting 8 years to get back into the Vette scene again.
Dennis...:D

Alsolutely classic example of what looks (from this distance) like an unmolested car.

Thanks for the photos..............amd more to follow?

Welcome to 67HEAVEN. ;LOL

Dennis,

CONGRTULATIONS! I live in Severn, so not too far from you. Hopefully, will see you at some of the local car shows, etc. And, if you are looking for a local club to join, check out mine - FREESTATE CORVETTE CLUB - http://www.freestatecorvette.com/

Thanks for your kind words about my car. She is back at Collector Car Museum in Gaithersburg and they will get her fixed up as good as new. She is keeping c5vetters LADY company for the next few weeks. :)
I'll try to let you know when I'll be coming back down to pick her up and maybe you can drive on over to the shop and show off your new toy.

your car looks GREAT!!! I would have loved factory air in my coupe but it wasn't meant to be but i might add an aftermarket on at some time ( i know some people are cringing to hear that! LOL). It looks great and is sure loads with a lot of great factory options. Have good luck with her.
Regarding the shipping company, I would imagine you need to get a complaint into them ASAP with a written statement and pictures showing the damage. if you have any pics showing the undamaged wheel before they picked up the car would be helpful also.

Barry

Hi! Dennis

Great looking "67" and I am envious! You only had to wait eight years to get back into the Corvette fraternity, and what a beautiful car to return with! I sold my 1965; wife wanted a house in 1973 and finally purchased a 1961 270HP three years ago. If my math is correct, that makes it 28 years.

Good luck with your "67"

Congrads on the 67 BB, now that you have that car, how about cruising over her to Virginia for the No VA Corvette Club Concours and Show n Shine and showing it off... check out www.nvcorvetteclub.com under Concours and send in that registration, would love to see it up and personal.

Again, beautiful car, best of luck with it...

Dennis,

:upthumbs Looks great! Just on your shipping problem… I experienced a similar problem a few years ago. I just refused to pay the bill till they fixed the damage. I was fortunate in that I had shipped 2 cars for a total bill of about $2K and the damage was about $800 so I had some bargaining room. It left them with the option of either suing me or settling. Of course, they chose to settle, and every thing was fixed to my satisfaction.

If you have paid the bill already I would recommend you talk to the head hauncho of the company. If that doesn’t work there is probably some dispute resolution body for the shipping industry. Next, there is probably a state government agency that takes care of these type of complaints. And last but not least the Better Business Bureau. Good luck.

Christmas for Easter, Part 2

Thanks for all the great replies. I stopped payment on the check to the shipping company. They called me back this morning after I left a message Sat morning. The guy was NOT very friendly. Wanted to talk about my "supposed" problem. Asked me if I had digital pics of the damage (yes, I do). Sent them to him this afternoon.
I'd love to make the show and shine in VA, even like to make the cruise in Front Royal, since my family lives about 15 miles south of that in Luray. Don't think I'll have it tagged by then, but I'm trying. Now for some more pics....

Dennis

That car is truely a real beauty!!! Would love to see it in person sometime.

Good idea to stop payment on the check. Funny how things like that tend to get people to call you back pretty quickly! LOL
Hope everything works out ok on that situation.
