What is a reasonable price for a chrome alternator housing? Can you even buy the housing or is there such a thing as a turn around where I give them mine and X dollars and I get a chrome alternator in return? The only thing I have located is a stright purchase for $745.00 which just seems ridiculous, I know all the corvette pretties are expensive but this seems excessive to me. Anyone have any suggestions? Come to think of it I have seen many underhood corvette pictures and rarely a picture with a chrome alternator, maybe the seemingly high cost is the reason. Makes sense to me.

Used to buy them all day long for the StreetRods for $120 (120 amp), complete. Install it and go.......

Seems to me there would be a big market for chrome alternators if they were in the $250 to $300 range but $745.00 prices me out of the market.
