In October of 2004 the first C3 Extravaganza (C3X) was held at the NCM. It was the first time the NCM had ever offered an annual event exclusively for the "Shark" generation.
In 2006, after two years of underwhelming attendance, the NCM decided to open up the event to C1 and C2 cars and renamed it the Classic Corvette Extravaganza (CCX) in hopes of increasing interest and attendance. Sad to say that didn't help to raise the attendance numbers last year.
Within the past week the NCM has announced that this year's CCX will be the last one. They are dropping it due to the apparent lack of interest. In fact, this year's event is currently in danger of being canceled due to low registration numbers to this point in time.
Here's a link to the CCX event page (click here) at the NCM's website. Links for the agenda and registration signup are at the bottom of the page. Pre-registration ends on September 30th.
Let's show the NCM they are wrong in their decision to remove this event from the annual calendar...!!!
