Cleaning the Vette

I am trying to figure out the best way to keep my Black Vette Clean. I have heard of drywash's before but never used anything like this. What does everyone use on theres?

Also, How about the wheels... I was told they are clear coated and need to use somehting on them as well.

Any suggestions would be great

On my Black Vette, It's simple, Wax on/Wax off.
Use the new Mr.Clean & follow instructions for washing.
I cover mine with a soft king size sheet in the Garage. and a full cover when it has to be outside.

Black is beautiful , when it is clean.

exactly. NO water on the motor.
if you have to detail the engine, do it with rags and an air hose.

Besides a normal wash and a few waxes a year, how else are you trying to keep your vette clean?
Better yet, how is it getting dirty?

If its simple dust getting on it, then we all use the California Duster.
I keep mine in the car and usually wipe down the car anywhere it is on display.
In the garage: I hope to get an indoor cover for it soon.
When I kept it outside, I had a nice car cover on her at all times.

I use the new Mr Clean system to wash -- It really does help prevent water spots. For waxing/polishing I use Zaino 2 to 3 times a year. In between, I use the Zaino detailer (usually after every wash). In between washes, I use the California duster and cover her every night.

Just go easy on the plastic top. I don't think it likes any type of detergent. mine doesn't get that dirty so it's usually just a rinse and dry on the top.

Mine sits outside on my driveway year round. The only thing I rush to clean off on a regular basis is the bird crap so it doesn't bake on (there's a phone cable right over my driveway, unfortunately; been trying to figure out a way to electrify it )

Weekly washes with the car wash soap that Advance sells for $3./gallon. Waxing every now and then with Liquid Glass, which I'm fond of because you can apply it to a hot car and it works great. Touch ups betw. waxes with Eagle One, which I also really like because you don't have to dry the car off when you apply it and it goes on/comes off easily and shines well.

Thanks everyone.. I will be doing a full wash this weekend.. As for it getting dirty.. The only real dirty spots are by the wheels.. Couldn't avoid all the puddles no matter how hard I tried. I am going to try the new Mr. Clean wash and see how that works for me.. I also will probably use the liquid glass since I used it before on my GTO and liked the results... I have entered the car in the Corvettes for Kids in my are on August 8th and I really want it to shine since it's my first event..

If you really want that shine get some Zaino.

It is a polymer not a wax, so it binds to your paint. It lasts longer, deters dust, and shines like non other. It is a pain in the arse to put on the first time, but it is well worth it!! I just ordered some today!
