I got this low clicking/tapping noise coming from right behind the radio area. I can hear it at idle, with radio and climate control off. I never really noticed that until recently. I know its not suppose to sound like that.

It sounds like metal "tinging" or clicking on something. I am going to the dealer tomorrow, but i was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up on something. I do have "Service Engine" light on, but i attribute that to the cold/winter gas. Usually happens.

Anyone had this noise?

Similar Noise in My Brand New Vette

I've had a similar clicking noise in my car since day two. Mine is more of a plastic rattle, and happens only at idle, in gear. Shifting to park smooths out the idle somewhat, and the noise goes away. I don't think our symptoms are the same, but the noises come from the same area. I am not looking forward to having the dealer pull out the whole console assembly to find this, since I'm fairly sure they'll never get it back in right. But at close to $50k for the car, I'm not going to put up with this kind of noise, this early in the game.

I've got a ticking noise also, but it's comming from the engine. I think I've got a worn lifter that's creating the racket.

The only noise I've had in the cabin is from something vibrating behind the passenger side air bag.

Hope everything works out at the dealer.:)

The noise does sound "mechanical" as apposed to interior plastic or other rattleing. It does have some what of a rythum. Actually, sounds like the AC clicking after a really hot day, and you turn the car off. But its all on the same time.

I want to see what this dealership is like before i go in full steam and leave my vette for a few days. I am going to a new one, close to my new job.

well, appearantly the clicking noise is coming from my resonator. It mas a tapping sounds that is noticeable.

I'm not about to go and replace it. But could this be effects of the BITTER cold we have had here in NJ the past 2-3 weeks.

Now, before i get totally yelled at, i do have to drive it all the time, even in winter and rain. Its my only car, yet due to my recent job, i might get a rice car for the 30 mpg thanks to the 30 mile commute i have now.

I'm not gonna yell at you. I drive mine everyday. Waking up in the morning, thought of driving gets me in the shower and the sound of LT-5 waking up wakes me up better than the double expresso! My only problrm is that they decided to renovate the parking garage and she has to be out in 12 degree night in the parking lot!:cry
