Clogged Injectors

My 88 vette with 60,000 miles seems to get clogged fuel injectors after only several thousand miles. Is this normal? I use only Texaco 93 octane gas.
This is my first vette and I had the fuel filter changed and the injectors cleaned by a Chevy dealer 11 months and 4,000 miles ago. They had fouled up after I put on my first 2,000 miles.
I have used the cheap fuel cleaners with not much effect. Does anyone out there use the stronger cleaner / detergents? Are they effective? Are they safe for the fuel system parts?
I also wonder if only using the machine once a week allows the tar and dirt to buildup more than they do on a daily driver.
Will appreciate any thoughts.

The only additive I would use is Chevron Techron. It comes in a black bottle. I was told to use two bottles mixed with a full tank of gas every 6,000 miles. Other additives will damage the injectors, I would stay away from them. Driving it once a week should not really matter. You might want to try changing gas stations, there filters on the pumps could be defective.

I use techron & redline ever 3000, driven daily. No problemmo's 91 octane (Left coast gas)

Thanks, Justin.
I never thought about a problem right from the gas pump.
Will also look into the use of Techron. I have read some positive things about it on other websites, but wasn't sure if it would be a good solution for me.

You may have to have the gas tank removed and thoroughly cleaned. It sounds like crude in the gas tank that's getting by the filter.

This may be why the P.O. sold it!

How did the chevy dealership clean your injectors? If you really want a through cleaning, take them off and send them in to places such as TPIS or Cruzin Performance.

Ditto on the Techron stuff. It's pretty good. It's costlier than the STP's out there but it's worth it.

Don't buy into the hype cleaners. Guy across the street thinks that because outlaw puts a horse on the front of the bottle, it will add horsepower to his Escort.:L:L:L
