hi guys , where the tie rod ends end, there is an alternate set of holes ,has anyone ever hooked the tie rod ends to them to try out the close ratio steering??just curious what this is like and how it works.mike

That set of holes in the steering arm (closest to the spindle) was used for power steering cars (and the other set were plugged with an aluminum rivet); If you use the outer set of holes (furthest from the spindle) with power steering, it can over-travel the power cylinder piston and damage it.

There is no problem with using the fast-ratio holes (closest to the spindle) with manual steering; you'll notice a significant increase in steering effort at low speed (like parking, driveway, etc.), and you'll have to have your toe-in re-set.
