Is the GM recommended "Super DOT-4" brake fluid the same as DOT-4 brake fluid available at a regular car parts place?

The service manual says to look in the owner's manual so that was no help. I also looked at the GM recommended stuff at a dealer and all it said was "Super DOT-4."

Yes, GM recommends brake fluid for the hyraulic clutch.

The clutch for my '04 BMW was hydraulic. The fluid comes straight from the brake fluid reservoir. I remember reading a procedure to remove the clutch delay valve, and at the end they mention that the brakes should be blead after the procedure, since they share the same reservoir.

HI there,
Fact is that GM clutch fluid is a slightly different composition, due to additives to avoid seal squeaking within the master cylinder.
This is why the 2 should not be confused.
