L-82 4-Speed Black/Black
Hello out there. I have a 1979 L-82 4-Speed. There is a bit of side-play in the clutch pedal. Is there any procedure known to properly change this bushing to eliminate the slop in the side-play. It appears you would have to drop the entire dash assembly on the drivers side. The total side-play is approximately 1/4" to 5/16". Your input would be greatly appreciated. Dale W.

The pedal support assembly has to come out of the car to change the pivot bushings for the clutch and brake pedals (clutch pedal can't be removed with it in the car). However, if it's just lateral slop, you might try shimming between the spring retainer and the side of the pedal support on the inboard end of the pivot shaft.

Thanks for your response. I was hoping this would be a quick fix, but I feel I will leave this one to the Vette shop. My time is very restricted these days. I have done everything else, but this. I have come to far with this restoration to leave this bushing replacement out. Take care. Dale W.
