I had to get my clutch plates unstuck on my 05 base Vette and was told by the Technician that this will keep happening if I don't drive it monthly. When I took it in for a diagnosis of the popping sound coming out of the rear when turning left, he said right off the bat, clutch plates. The Tech. got them unstuck and added a synthetic conditioner, then told me to drive it more often.
Any of you people ever had this happen to you? I want to cover and store this winter but now I'm worried about this happening again.

As the car is 13 years old, the first thing I'd do is change the rear axle lubricant. The stuff GM sells is ok but you're better off with a premium aftermarket synthetic such as Driven 75W90 Limited Slip Gear Oil.

Once you get the lube changed then drive the car 10-15 miles to get the lube up to temperature, then find an empty parking lot and drive slowly in tight circles right and left. If you feel the limited slip chattering or hear it squealing loud add an ounce of GM's Friction Modifier.

Provided the lubricant is in good condition and there is no water in the rear axle, limited slip clutches will not stick together when the car is not driven.

Again, the first thing I'd do with this is change the lube.
