Hey all, I got a code that is not listed on any code list I've seen so far. Has anyone ever seen this one or know what it means? I don't even know what module this refers to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:confused

Hi there,
First, SDM is the sensing and diagnostic module. This is the main control computer for the air bag system.
Second, the B1001 is an option configuration error.
Basically, the VIN programmed into the SDM does NOT match other programmed modules in the system. It could have been set when a control module, particularly the BCM, was replaced or reprogrammed.
Only if you cannot reset the code, and it does not clear, then it would be something that a dealership should be involved with.
I would set up an appointment, and have the system checked, if you cannot clear the code.

Thanks C4C5 for the reply. Sorry for the late response. I've been out of loop for a couple of weeks. My son was born March 10th and I took a two week sabatical from everything to help the wife with the newest Vette fan. I'll see if I can clear that code and let you know the outcome.
Thanks again.:w :pat :Steer
