Ah! I was remembering the last gen Sunfire. Although I don't care for the Sunfire front as a whole, the shape of the headlights would look downright mean in place of the MT "box" headlights. They have some style!! I still hope there are fewer folds and creases in the front and rear facias.

I've said it before, I'll say it again...

...GM has cheaped out on the C5 development. The vert and
hardtop were already planned from the beginning. They did
add the Z06 motor, post 1996. But other than that motor,
they've done zero development on C5 since 1996.

I would have like to seen a few wrinkles in the shape, a tighter
behind would be nice.

;stupid I think GM is taking Corvette owners/lovers for all they are worth, and not putting any $$$ into the Corvette anymore.

I have to disagree. And the proof is simple--the C5R program. Corvette hadn't raced in 30 years before the C5R. The C5R is also doing extremely well---nothing can compete with it. It blows everything else away right now. Corvette is finally getting back into some cutting edge race technology. And the technological improvements will be finding their way to the factory produced cars.

Here's a fun fact: No other Le Mans car is more like it's factory produced sibling than the C5R. That is something to be proud of.

Hey, where's jujube? One of you guys who are so good with Photoshop should graft the Sunfire headlights and lower opening onto a C5 - maybe Jujubee's yellow number. I'd like to see that!!!

Although I agree about the substantial financial commitment required to make the C5R the champ that it has been - and will hopefully continue to be - I'm not sure the above statement is correct. Aren't all of the GTS category cars about the same in "stock" content (Ferrari, Viper, Saleen, etc)?

By the way, I think it is absurd that a Saleen S7 ($275,000?), with such a limited production run, should be allowed to compete in the same category as the Vette. At least a reasonalble number of Ferraris and Vipers are produced & sold.

Go C5R - Three-peat!!!

Well, take it or leave it, it's a statement I read somewhere and it stuck in my head. Yes, they are all based off of a production car, but the C5R and C5 are supposed to have more in common than any other pair. As in the most stock features are used and not changed.

Because the 04 "special edition" is almost the same color as Electron blue. They dropped Mag red for 03 because it was close to the 50th red.
