Comem. C8 #2 At The Track & Coming Home

Well the engine is off the Dyno & the headers are being fabricated as we speak!**The final configuration to achieve the targeted 550hp & 525lb/ft of torque & make consistant power all the way to 6500 with a 4:10 rear & 49/50 compliant has been completed.Due to stroke it now displaces 414 Cubes. I have reproduced below a snapshot of the dyno sheet because it comes out too light when I post it.Here goes!

EngSpd STPTrq STPPwr
3000 432.3 247.0
3500 463.4 308.8
4000 496.8 378.4
4500 524.9 < 442.9
5000 521.4 496.4
5500 507.2 531.2
6000 475.6 543.4<
6500 431.6 534.1

Tony - That is AWESOME!!!!!!!:upthumbs :BOW :Steer :v

Awesome

Nice strong numbers for a normally aspirated small block! Did they use "dyno headers" for those pulls? Where they the same size as the ones they are fabricating for in the car? It will be interesting to see if the curve changes when the engine is in the car and running through an exhaust.

Headers

Headers used for dyno were the exact one's that will be on the car. What is left is to clean up the welds, final fit them in car & hot coat!

Tony - How are things looking this week??? I heard about the dyno session and how not a whole lot of concentration could be had that day, in the office area :D:Steer

Soon

Callaway was really rocking from the power pulls! The engine is in it's cradle, headers are coated and going in,special Y-pipe is done but the C12 cats stuffing is being reevaluated for even more flow & is slowing things down a bit.Looks like this engine package & related parts will be a step up option for the C12 so no stone will be left unturned.Good for C12 owners & at the same time very good for me. Carl G. is presently going through therapy over the prospect of a Camaro burying our CR-1's.:crazy :crazy

Believe it or not!

Chris I'm glad you were there because I don't think people would believe it! & yes all in 95+ temps & humidity Hint:Callaway get's the boot!:eek I will post the whole story when I get clearance from Zoner! Stay tuned boys & girls!

I think its time you had Reeves build you guys some 415's to go in the CR1s. That'll be plenty of therapy :D

415 Therapy

Amen to that!Unfortunately Callaway has no plans for a 415 LT5,so that leaves Mr. "L" which is not acceptable in my book!JMO.

South GA Corvettes is the main builder of 415s now I believe...Aaron Scott is his name, I believe, been reading alot of good stuff about his motors in the ZR1 forum at CF. FWIW.
