I have had the C-5 now for about six months, but I can't seem to find a "sweet spot" regarding the seating position and it's driving me nuts.

OK, I'm not tall (5' 9") and have a short inseam (30" pant leg length).

If the seat is where I can reach the firewall while depressing the clutch, I'm too close to have a comfortable position for my foot on the gas pedal and as a result, my right leg is at a "wierd" angle and never rests comfortably on the floor; the right knee is in an "up and cocked/skewed" position.

I spend eight hours a day behind the wheel of my "company" cars and have for the last 20 years .... so I have a bit of accute sensitivity (read pain), from too many miles, but the Vett is the worst of all.

I was frothing to take it on a 400 mile trip to Maine last week, but after a 100 miler, I elected to take my old Toyota 4X4 T-100. Rain was a factor too but the biggie was that doing an 800 mile round trip in the C-5 was not very attractive.

I've thought of a "block" attached to the clutch so I can get full travel and still put the seat back a bit more, giving me a bit more "stretch" for foot position on the gas.

Any suggestions short of surgery welcome .... I'd rather have a "bottle in front o' me" than a "frontal lobotomy".

Lower the seat to its lowest position. Then back the seat up as far back as it will go. Find the most comfortable position for your legs there. Then...use the manual seat back lever and see which you like, using the adjustments or leaving it in the normal position.
Then raise the seat bottom to where that is comfortable for you.
Done!
I'm six feet, and I find the regular seat back position the most comfortable.

I just drove an 800 mile two-day trip in the Vette and the wife and I were most comfortable. My a** is numb in the Tahoe after about 4 hours, but no such problem with the C5.

And if that doesn't work......I would suggest surgery!!!:L

I had the same problem when I was test driving Corvettes while shopping. I really REALLY wanted a manual tranny but could not justify the constant discomfort and how I had to tweak my left leg. I have a back problem and could not find a position that was comfortable at all while being able to reach the clutch. I'm 5'5". In order to reach the clutch and the brake my left leg had to stay turned out. No way. I had to get the automatic for this reason alone.

I sat in the dealer's lot playing with every seat adjustment much to the salesperson's irritation.
