Comp cams setup.

Comp cams 305 cam with the 983- spring kit, 1,5 rrs, miniram.

How much will the stock exhuast manifolds, and stock heads hold me back?

And future plans would be:

AFR 195
Hooker headers
race valves

And must I machine my 113 alu heads to fit the 983 springs, comp cams say no, but im not sure..

Or should I go with the comp cams 306?

Can't give you an exact number but quite a few members here note how much of an improvement headers in relation to that kick in the @$$ feel.

I still have the exhaust manifolds on my car and if I could afford it, I would've got headers long ago.

It's like this: no matter how much gassy food you've eaten, it won't come out cleanly and efficiently if you have half of your :booty plugged up. It can't breath out and you'd lose power, not to mention enjoyment!:L

Plus, the miniram was intended to be operated in the higher RPM range right? And that's when the higher the RPM, the more restricting those stock heads and exhaust manifolds will be so you really negate any improvements you've made.

the 305 is like 224/230 duration @ .050 right?
lift is like .503/.510 if I recall correctly.

That would work well in the Miniram.. The stock head and manifold will be a restriction, but is not too bad to swap head on the car, easier then a cam swap again IMHO.
