I've heard that 93-01 Camaro/firebird rear seat belts will bolt up in a C3. Would I need to get the only the REAR seat belts to include both ends (male and female)? Anybody delt with that? Thanks,

Hi.69MnyPitYou got it exactly right .....I did this conversion on my 73 and it worked out perfect...I used the rear belts out of a 93 T.A. firebird... I got a whole set off E-bay for $25.00.....They bolted right in the stock locations...I ran mine around the side of the seats instead of thru the back, but you can do it either way you want...I think I had to slip the short plastic sleeves off the t.a. front belts and slip them over the short belt near the console to keep them in place while your clicking them together....But there very comfortable and they work Great...

Thanks, that's about what I figured, just wanted to verify.

Being impatient, I dropped the ebay idea and went right to the Chevy dealer. They had new sets for $80+. I didn't buy them because I couldn't get anything close to dark saddle or any tan color for my car. Instead I bought a set of retractible bucket seat convertible belts from the following site: http://store.yahoo.net/wescoperformance/seatbelts.html
I had to twist the male buckle around on the belt as it was made for a different configuration and one of these winter weekends I will put them in. Sitting on my desk they appear to work fine, will they fit through the slot in the top of the seat? Stay tuned.

Assuming that you have a '69, it's not as easy as the '70+ (or was it '71+?). The mounting points changed after either '69 or '70. The early models had the belts anchored on the vertical (or side) of the wheel well, while the later ones (and the F-body rear) are mounted on the horizontal (or top) of the wheel well.

The placement is critical, since the belt is "locked" based on a swinging ball.

This could work on an early model by fabbing up a L bracket relocating the anchor to the top of the wheel well.
