Ok I am working outside in on my Vette. I have taken care of a good portion of the mechanical work, but then interior is pretty much shot. Clearly this is something I am going to do myself, but my question is are their any folks out there that sell kits or do i need to order each part separately?

Also as far as custom work goes does any one know of a place where I can get billeted aluminum for the dash or the center console and gauge cluster?

Oh additionally does anyone know the difference between the Red used in some years and the Red used in 1976? It seems like the red in 76 is more of a burnt orange. I am looking to get RED any particular year I should look for, as far as color designation?

I just purchased new door panels from a vendor called CorvetteWorks. If you go to corvetteforum.com and look under C3 parts for sale, you will find a thread on door panels started by corvetteworks. He is a guy who has several vettes and decided to start a resto/parts business. Very nice guy and great prices. He will usually beat most prices.

Interior Parts

Hey Wrc3, I replaced the complete interior in my '74 coupe last year. I found every thing I needed at Zip. They also gave me a discount of 10 percent, call them to set that up. I changed the color and used another from a different year. No problem with fit. When I ordered wrong they accepted the returns with no hassles. As for kits I don't remember any. Good Luck it is just another test of your will. peace Bud :cool

Interior is something that scares me. :( If I have to work under the hood or the underbody, then fine. But interior is just so...precise. It's hard to explain. But good luck with it! :D

I found a brushed aluminum center console and speedo section at this website: http://wooddashman.com Hope that helps.
hey thanks man that is exactly what i was looking for! Been looking all over the internet for one!

Ya as far as interior work I am a bit nervous about doing it. headers, carb rebuild...no prob...i am just afraid of draggin a screw driver across a nice new leather dash...YIKES!!

I checked out the site for the aluminum dash. I too had been thinking about that. This is not a real aluminum dash, more like a covering or some type of simulated aluminum sticker. Read over it carefully before you order.

I had purchase my complete interior package from Corvette America .
They some times have seconds . From what I understand , it is hard to find
the defect .
Corvette America 800 458- 3475.
Good luck .

Ya I saw that...what do they call it? "Simulated Material" you can get real Carbon Fiber though, so I might go that direction instead. I am going to be mostly red on the interior except for the seats, steering wheel and floor mats, which will be black, so maybe the carbon fiber would look good.

Does anyone know where I can see color swatches of the different Reds? Firethorn is the red for my 1976, but I wanted to see how that differed from other reds if at all.

I've got a set of NOS firethorn red deluxe door panels for a 76. I bought them last year and planned on dying them black (I need black). They are so nice, that I was thinking of selling them and just buying black ones. Let me know if you're interested and I can e-mail you some pics.

You'd be surprised what can be done with a can or two of trim paint. I thought I would need to replace my whole interior but the faded rugs look perfect since I trim painted them & feel new. Try the paint first, you have nothing to lose. My interior was black so it matched up easier but still worth a shot, good luck.

I am doing the interior in my car now also. I have just started my seats. So far I have one bottom done. I went from vinyl to leather. Looks pretty good so far. I also have a new dash pads upper and lower, new gauge console, new shift console. I have yet to order my carpet yet but am looking to do so pretty soon. Right now my car is getting painted. Going to see the car tomorrow afternoon.

Nice! You need to post some pics when you are done. I love my 76, but if I had known anything about vettes before hand I probably would have gotten a 70. So I am kind of Jealous.

Does anyone know the fit difference from year to year? LIke if i buy an interior for a 74 will it fit my 76? What about T-Top pads?
