81 rear springbottoms out alot on minor bumps freeway and side streets. should i replace with a higher rate spring or stay with original springrate. And what shocks are best with composite spring.

I would go with the mid-level composite spring-----I believe it's the 340 in the Vette Brakes catalog. Or, you could get the similar one made by, I believe, Trane (don't quote me on the name). I run the 340 Vette Brakes in mine, but I have always been concerned that it doesn't come with the heat shield, whereas the Trane one does. As to shocks, Vette Brakes and KYB claim that some relatively new brand of KYB is made for composites, but that sounds like total propoganda to me. A good choice for a "flat" ride (no wallow or nervousness) is simple Monroe Sensatrac. Frequently, people over spring, roll bar and shock these cars, with the result that the car behaves nervously and actually ends up causing you to have to go more slowly over real roads.

Why are you thinking of getting a different spring? You are most likely bottoming out because of the condition of your rear shocks. I have the TRW mono spring and the KYB shocks that are supposed to be tuned especially for the composite spring. I also bought new Grand Touring springs for the front and bilsteins. Car rides very smoothly while still being able to make sustained turns without rollover.
