I just had a compression test done.

145 150
150 160
160 140
170 160

I've been told that this is in the normal range. However, when it comes to tweaking the engine, am I okay, or should I be conservative about it?

did you put any oil in the cylinders before you started the comp test?? normal test pressure for your motor should be 150 psi. i am kind of surprized to see 170 on your test, but the numbers are good to go for building her up. Brian

No oil. Just empty cylinders. If I was going to really hot-rod it, I would do a full leakdown and such, but I just wanted a general idea of the internal condition.

It clearly isn't tuned very well (the spark plugs were looking pretty sad), but that will shortly no longer be an issue, when I install the TPI system.
