Which side of the coil does it go on....negative or positive?

Do you mean the one that is in the dist w/points? That one is on the neg side. It's used to eliminate arcing accross the points while openning.

yes its a points distributor , i have a conversion kit to electronic in it...just putting it all back together and i got to the thing, and for the life of me, couldnt remember which side.

If you're talking about the radio noise suppression capacitor at the coil, its lead goes to the (+) coil terminal.

im not sure...

this is attached to the coil bracket/holder...it has a band around it and screws to the coil holder...let me know..i can post a pic to be sure if you want.Thanks, chas
