Console latch

I have found a small problem with my new to me 96, the console lid will not latch shut. I think everything is there nothing looks broken or missing but I'm not sure. The button works I can push it in and there is spring force pushing it back out. Does anybody have a diagram or a photo of it so I can get it working? Any ideas of what to check?

Hi Tom;

My '96 had a similar problem. When you close the console lid, pull it gently towards the driver's side of the car as you shut it. When I do that it latches correctly.

Messed around with it again last night but I still can't get it to latch. This Sunday when I am at the show in Ocean City I will check out the other C4s to see how it works. The lock works so I can keep it shut that way.
