Is the console paint the same as the ext. color. Mine looks similar but there is a differance. It seems to be a simi-flat, anyway if you can shed some light on this for me Id appreciate it.

company name--SEM trim black is the right color-easy to spray and comes in either rattle can or quart cans--can get at your local auto paint store normally

Thanks for the reply. My dash is blue like the car, does this paint come in colors.

Any of the major vendors will have the interior dye in a spray can . I did my console plate in the Nassau Blue last year. The only complaint I have is that it took several coats to cover, because the stuff is extremely thin. If you are doing your console plate, be sure to use a primer first (the stuff just won't stick to bare metal). If you are doing your vinyl dashpad, be sure to clean it thoroghly first.

Thanks , that awnswers my question, its a dye. My car is nassau blue also and the out side color is darker than the dash. So Iam sure the dye is a a shade or two differant.

Interior Paint

The interior paint should be the same lacquer as the exterior. The interior paint was not rubbed to a gloss finish as the exterior. I just completed restoring the interior of my 65 and there were two different shades of saddle paint for the interior. I used PPG and DuPont lacquers and mixed them for the shading I was looking for. I also had them add some flatening agent to get the sheen I was looking for.
