Can someone give me some advise on how to adjust the hatch on my 90 convertible. It has over 1/4 inch gap on the drivers side, the other side is fine. I just got this car a couple weeks ago and trying to work the bugs out. Rebuilt the headlight motors yesterday with great results. Just a couple more items and alls left is Enjoyment!:beer

Skitch, I did a search of the C4 Tech forum but couldn't find a thread which specifically addresses hatch adjustment. Hopefully one of our C4 owners has firsthand knowledge on the subject and will check in soon.

Congrats on your recent purchase. The C4 is a great Vette!

Post pix of her when you can. We have a great C4 photo thread going!

Adjustment

Hi. Cant help you just now since i are away from home at work but a advice i had buying my corvette was to buy a service manual. I did and no regretts. Loads of them on eBay and ecklers do them also.

Greate cars, all the best with yours and happy ride.:w

I echo Norwegianvette. get a factory service manual.
may cost $125 from Helms, new. It will be the best investment you'll ever make in your vette. Just to learn how the various things work, and what's there is a value in itself. Get the other auto store manuals too - sometimes the pics, drawings and tips augment the fsm.
have fun with your new vette.

Done it, you'll need an allen key wrench to adjust it. Open the tonneau cover and you'll see where there's a striker plate with two or three screws. Loosen them and push the plate straight down, then tighten the screws and close the cover. It'll require a few attempts to get it just right where you want it but it's a simple procedure.

Thanks Dave, I adjusted it in just a few minutes. Got it right on the first attempt. I did get a Corvette Service manual but it didn't state how to adjust the hatch, it just said adjust! But I'm sure the manual will more than pay for itself down the road. Just a couple more bugs to work out and it will be right!
