Ok,
I'm sure we all have some neat corvette stories to tell.
I've read quite a few here but I'm sure that is just the tip of
the iceberg.
Well, it's time to 'fess up.
I'll start off by sharing something that happened a few years ago.
My wife and I were at Bowling Green for the 50th anniversary kick-off celebration. This was the first of my three trips there.
As we walked among the many kiosks in front of the NCM, we passed one that belonged to Dana Forrester. If you are not familiar with his work, you should try to be..as an owner of a vintage corvette.
One of his paintings is of a red 1967 coupe from behind where you are looking
through the back window at the gauges.
This is in my opinion, one of the coolest shots/angles to shoot a midyear.
Dana was there with an example of this particular painting and my wife upon seeing it, said "look honey, it's your car".
We talked with him for a few minutes..he's a real cool guy.
Very easy to talk to.
We looked at all of his work there and as we walked away, my lady said, wouldn't it be cool if he could do that with your vanity tag?
I agreed.
Next thing I know, she says, "I'll be right back..."
She went back to talk to Dana, all the while asking me to stay away.
Long story short, three weeks after we got home from BG, the print arrived.
