Belated birthday present from my wife (I love her!). The new GTech Pro Competition. *Completely* different from the old-style unit, and about $100 more
. This one lets you store data internally for up to four different vehicles, and download runs to your computer for comparisons. And you don't need a laptop... they included an AC adapter that lets you use the thing in the house next to your PC. Nice detail, that.
Anyway, in addition to the standard 0-60, 0-100, 0-60-0, 1/4 time, torque, HP, etc, there are new functions like shift lights (you enter redline and some RPM information, it tells you when to shift for peak performance), interval lights, a TACH, max sideways G indicators, and more. Much nicer mounting hardware, too, and a user interface that's lightyears ahead of the old model. I haven't had tons of experience with the other major performance computers, but this one's got my vote - small, powerful, easy to use, and not terribly expensive. Got mine from Summit.
