Is it possible to syphon coolant from the radiator to avoid the usual
method ie: bottom hose, etc.? All I want to do is replace the thermostat. Sure would be a lot easier and less messy. Thanks

There is a drain on the bottom of the radiator run your car up on ramps and open the drain into a bucket. Do not try to syphon the coolant out. Coolant is poison :ohnoes and only takes a small amount to get to you (expectly the green stuff). and its not a pretty death. Flush and refill with new and dispose of old at recycle center.

Why not use the Pit Cock located in the lower right hand corner of the radiator?? Turn the wheels 15* to the right, slide a pan under it and you can reach it from the front of the right front well area! :thumb
I mean like factory put it there for a reason,Use It!! :D

The last time, with a pair of plyers, I tried the drain plug, pieces broke off. I ended up diconnecting the bottom hose. I just thought maybe I
could avoid that this time. I'll try the plug again. Thanks.

If you can get it out,you can get a new plug at the dealer for $5-$6!:thumb

PS. I just looked,I don't have one in a old rad out back or I'd send it to you!

I have always tighten and loosened the drain plug by hand. There is no reason to use tools on it.:bash
