Question: re: fuel injectors
I started my "91" Vette last sunday, which had been running great, and it stopped running. I was able to pull off the highway. Trying to restart it resulted in the car "chugging" and then completely shutoff. I had it towed to a close by Chevy dealer. They've diagnosed the problem as being in the fuel injector system which would require replacing all fuel injectors and somehow ruined the plugs in the process. The mechanic explained that one of the injectors may have gone bad and caused the others to go due somehow to the ECM system. He said one of the injectors got "hot" and ruined the others through the computer. The car had been sitting for two hours before I started it so I can't understand how anything could have been "hot". Can anyone relate to this and tell me why it's going to cost three thousand dollars to have the work done. The car has only 33K miles and has been pampered it's whole life.
Thanx
