Warning: I purchased a CC exhaust system w/Magnaflow mufflers for our '81 even though it was listed as only fitting an '82. I thought "Oh hell, it has to fit the '81!"....nope. It was a smoking deal at less than $400, so I went for it.....and man was I disappointed.
The system itself is great, BUT the left pipe hits the transmission mount and had to be lengthened by 1 1/2" to accommodate the install. With that, the crossover had to be cut in the process and I just welded caps over the openings, so it's sans crossover.
Aside from some slight tweaks, it fits great but remember, for an '81..it does not fit. I even RE-referenced the stock photo from the catalog and it is certainly bent differently out of the box, so unless you have a fully tool-stocked garage, fabrication skills and a day to kill, 1982 means 1982 ONLY.
