Thats true but only averages 29mpg......How good is yours on gas...?????????:D

I've seen 87 ... and I've also seen 1.2!! I'd guess my overall average is around 22 for the ~9000 miles I have on it.

It's suprising that people think that a corvette is bad on gas when it's not

Mine usually gets right around 15-16 mpg. That usually in city traffic, lots of traffic lights. That's way better than my 04 Avalanche.....

getting a little over 17mpg.Which I am pleasantly surprised by but,I don't think any of us bought these car with gas mileage in mind:D

Average...20.1 MPG, on the freeway at 70, cruise control on, it gives me 26 MPG. Great and better than V6s. We had a windstar years back and it gave 19 MPG on the freeway!!! worst than a 454.

My little sweetheart gets ave. about 25 mpg, which is what my PT Cruiser gets! If I knew that a Vette could get such good mileage I would have convinced the Mrs. long ago that I NEEDED one. :-)

My '02 averages around 19mpg, combined city and highway. I use it as a daily driver in good weather, so that includes a lot of city driving. The great gas mileage is one of the things that absolutely blew me away about the vette (this is my first vette). You get it all: outstanding performance on demand, and great gas mileage too. More than humans should be allowed...

The readout on my 87 says like 15.5, which has been mostly city driving. If I want to get a lot of gas mileage I get into my inline 4 Escort :L .

I guess because my 86 has a 2.59 rear gear it does so well on gas.......but it hates to be driven under 50 mph and it's a dog off the line......a kid on a bicyle could probably beat me in the quarter mile
mike

7 mpg city 13 mpg highway.

of course my digi has a dang glitch in it and sometimes driving it will read 0 mpg on both sides of the lower readouts. only the lower parts glitch along with my OD light coming on sometimes along with the shift light. everything else works fine.

before this i averaged 17 mpg city which is really good how i drive :D and thats flogging on it ALOT! on the highway i've averaged around 28 mpg on cruise for 2 hours on the interstate at 70 mph :D
i didn't buy this car for gas milage although it gets better gas milage than my 97 4.3 C1500 pickup :L i just like to feel the pull :lou

My readout is screwed up. Shows me 35mpg most of the time. Been keeping track of the miles and gal. Haven't gotten under 19 mpg and as high as 25 on short jumps. Seldom sees less than 12 miles per trip and as much as 125. Very little city driving . On the interstate on a 168 mile run I did get 28.6 at 75mph steady speed.I couldn't get anything over 24 mpg with my 98 Riv. I actually did buy the car for mileage. I wanted to be able to get at least 15 mpg and I was sure the TPI would do that. Never expected what I am getting though. Like I tell people. I thought I bought a sports car not an economy car. :L I am quite pleased considering what the gas prices had done.

:w

70 % city 30 % hwy with a heavy foot 22mpg avg. :D

I average 21 mpg, mostly city driving, some long distance, mostly used for joyriding.

Just drove the 91 to Philly and back and averaged 27.4 MPG. Little tough finding 93 Octane in Philly though. Went to 3 stations and they were out. Finally mixed 89 Octane with the half Tank I had left. didn't ping or anything but would rather not do that again!!

Did someone use 454 and mileage in the same sentence?? :L

I get about 10 mpg.

I've read somewhere that over in Japan the kids are installing "electric" boost to their cars, kind of like a electric turbocharger. The article actually said that the cars get better fuel economy and of course more umph when needed. I can't find that article anywhere but would it be cool to have two of these E-turbos on a vette and get 30 mph and an extra 100 hp when needed?

I see 99 MPG down hill no pedal. On flats it gets 35! Average 18.5 with passionate acceleration.

The electric superchargers are mythical. A Stihl leaf blower looks bad on the hood. it's been kicked around here before, some fellow made claims. I'm waiting on the flux capacitor to come from Ebay I won last week.:ugh

I look at my mileage as the equivalent of about 10% less than calculated because of the use of premium fuel which is roughly 10% more than 87 octane. Just keeps things in perspective.

Just my nickel's worth
