Corvette in the winter :/

Well the vette is my only wheels, and purchasing another car for the winter is out of the question. My paint sucks, i know its just gonna get worse from all the lovely salt. Besides having 50/50 water/antifreeze, is there anything else i should include in my list of preperations? Gonna be fun getting caught in the snow ^_^

That sucks. I remember the good ole winter days. I drove an '86 Trans Am one winter and that was no fun. I always tried to keep a good coat of wax constantly on the car that way the salt is at least sitting on the wax.

Get the best snow tires that'll fit the car...

When I lived in NJ I drove a Firebird Formula that completely sucked in the snow. As far as traction went, bags of rock salt in the trunk helped big time. Get a good coat of wax on it, especially on the fenders behind the tires...I didn't one winter and my paint paid dearly.

I hate to say this but the forcast for this winter is the same or worse than last year in the NE. Put a good snow shove in back.

HPG - man that picture is painfull to look at....and to think that weather is not to far off. I took a 150 mile cruise with tops off in 70 degree weather up through the central mountains of PA this afternoon,absolutely gorgeous driving weather. I figure by the end of November my car is done till spring.

that is not cool. Im thinking snow tires. Also covering the car when it has to sit, think this is wise? Besides that, i just wont drive when its snowing out, i have friends with front wheel drive cars that will give me a lift I'm not terribly worried about the paint, its already pretty bad, i was gonna get a paint job in the spring anyway. Wish me luck, ehehe...

Before I had a garage for my first Vette, I remember it used to sit outside and get filthy. It was not my daily driver but it gets really dirty sitting under trees and rain storms. What I did that seemed to work was I would cover the car with a cloth car cover and then over that I would put a very durable cover....same material you would use to cover an above ground pool in the winter. In fact, I think I bought that second cover at a pool store. The cloth cover underneath would protect the paint from the rough pool cover, and the pool cover was completly waterproof. This might work for you and is pretty inexpensive.

that was 28+ inches on that snow, 61 + for the winter and they say this winter will be the same. Took over 2 months before I was able to get the car out. Not that I would have taken it out, Vetts don't do well in snow.
