I'm thinking of having my interior restored, instrument cluster, clock, console, etc. Also the chrome needs to be redone. I'd say a minor restoration.

I'll be working out of state for a couple of months and would love to get the work done while I'm gone. Doe's anyone know an honest, experience Corvette shop for this in the Carolinas or close by?

Wayne Womble has a good rep as I have heard. I do not have first hand experience though. He is located in New Hill 919 362 7052. Also doesn't Charlie O's do restorations or is he just a dealer?? He is in Clemmons 336 764 1578. Some one who is further away but not to far is in Newport News, VA. He restored my dad's complete 66. The problem is he only wants to do complete restorations... Dave..

Dave-
Thanks for the leads. I'n not opposed to going to Virginia although my car had "a body on restoration". Next to afriend of mine's '67, it looks like a beater. If you don't mind me asking, how much did your Dad's cost to do? What was the shape beforehand?

His vette had set for about 15 yrs when he was ready to start playin with it again in 1993, All he planned on was getting it road worthy again ie brakes and what ever else needed it. However he got talking to the guy and decided since it was such an orginal car to restore it completely. My dad is very picky and I think the guy just didn't want to have him spend a lot of money and not be happy with the end product. So he went the complete restore route. This guy is very good and the best part is he's not nearly as expensive as the rest of them. My dad's car had okay paint, okay int. the engine was the orginal. All new everything and a ZZ1 engine, side exhaust and Knockoff's he spent a little over 25k in 1993/94 time frame. The car is show room new and he drives the hell out of it... Hope that this helps..Dave Email me if you'd like to talk in more detail about it...
