Corvette Racing got promoted to first and second in GT2 qualifying at Le Mans after the slightly faster Risi Ferrari got tagged with a post qualifying technical infraction.

Yep, according to the ACO's web page, the infraction was a "minor irregularity with the car's rear wing". No. 82 goes to the back of the field.

Both the Vettes and the Ferraris look very racey. Hoping for lots of exciting action. :thumb

GREAT - May The Best Corvette Win!

Qlf'y 1-2

I think the difference was ~.8 sec between the Ferrari and the Vette. They had to be p$$ed, just like the BMW team getting screwed with smaller intakes this week. Got to get a Vette win here!!! :thumb

btw, I thought GT1 was a dead letter? Last time for LeMans, right? I hope the Vettes in GT1 beat the out-of-production Fords that suddenly showed up...

Vette in GT1 is European effort and I don't believe factory backed. Hope they win GT1 anyway. Vettes in GT2 are "official" factory backed effort. Hope they win too :upthumbs

Too bad neither Vette in GT2 were running at the end of the race.

Shtty run for the team this time, 'specially for the 50th. I think the smoked both engines, the new 5.5L. Reminds me of how they started out with the C5 program, and we all know how that wound up :thumb

Pretty amazed at the overall attrition rate, like half the field, right? The ghost of Joe Lucas got the Jag entry, what a btch! And every Ford GT blew up/fell out.

It's not a total loss for Corvette in general...
French privateer Luc Alphand finished 2nd in GT1 with a C6R.

This was a disappointing result especially after leading for so long and after so much work to prepare for the race. Obviously, the Vettes had the speed and held up well during the race. Vette in GT1 was able to finish so it is hard to except the factory based team had engine trouble. Corvette Racing had owned the day until, I believe, pistons gave out. Clearly, the Vettes were the team to beat. The Vette being forced off the track was kind of dirty. Even the announcers said the other driver caused the crash and was wrong. Boy, I wanted a 1 and 2 finish it that race.
