Hi to All,

I "lurk" constantly on this site and always get some great info. Re-built my 2 x 4 carbs earlier this year with help from this site (and the "Corvette Enthusiast" mag; Andy Bolig's a nice guy and the mag is tops in POV).

Long story short (maybe): Have a non-stock distributor that does NOT allow me to run a PCV valve to the rear carb on the 2 x 4 set up. Also have a "correct" distributor for the 2 x 4 - 270 HP that WILL allow me to run PCV (the 2 x 4 set up is sitting atop a 350 CID - 300 HP early crate motor) to the rear carb.

I'm not real big on setting up dual points on the original dist. so I bought a Crane "Fireball XR700" Points Conversion Kit. I really like the idea of this set up and am in the process of installing it.

Question: If anyone else has installed this type of conversion, where did you mount the Ignition Module ??? There are a couple of places that I think it will fit and work well, but I don't won't to go around drilling holes in this car to mount it and then say "Whoa, it would have been better here !" or, worse yet, " WHOA !!! I just drilled a hole in my heater core !!!!!!!"

Any and all help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. to Jim Brady if he's hanging around - Haven't forgotten about you and would really like to stop by sometime when I get the chance; still have you rphnone # and will give a call.

Thanks,

Bernie O.

I am not falmilur with the kit you have as I have been using the msd system with there distributor with great sucess.

the msd asks for an area that dry and allows to box to lose its heat.

I have a 62 and I belive its simular to a 59,depending on how much heat your box gives off i would suggest maybee under the dash above the sail panels with a braket off of the steel bracing Or maybee behind the center console with an open brace off of the wiper motor mounting bolts.

Or if your looking for a spot in the engine bay you might try tucked up above the winsheild wiper squirter resivour on the driver side. You could then send the wires back into under the dash with the regular harness and poke back out in the center by the distibutor
