apparently there is a huge debate whether or not a underdrive crank pulley is worth any power at the strip. i decided to dive headfirst into this arguement and install one on my bolton L98 Vette. ill be going down to the track on Wed for some test runs. heres the run im looking to beat:

60ft - 1.76
330 - 5.36
1/8 - 8.37
MPH - 81.21
1000 - 10.97
1/4 - 13.16
MPH - 103.53

the car has run a bit higher in trap speed before in similar conditions (103.79mph) so im looking to beat that as well as the 13.16 E/T. ill report back in a few days

we both went to the track after the crank pulley and he had a fuel problem after changing fuel pump. it would launch hard then fall on it's face then take off again.

he's in the process of fixing it but also just bought a 93 40th 6 speed car that he is playing with at the moment :)

once he gets the fuel system straightened out he'll let you guys know! he said he will try and hit cecil this friday night and hopefully the fuel system is worked out :)

Since the Pulley claim more HP.. I would be more interested in the MPH then the ET. The MPh represents the HP more then the ET will

turns out my fuel gauge readings are waaayy off. i went to the track thinking i had about a 1/4 tank, when in reality i only had about a little over a gallon. when i launched, the fuel pump was getting uncovered and i would bog until the gas in the tank covered the fuel pump again. ive sorta got that fixed now (just gotta keep enough gas in the tank) and should hit the track again soon

I did the underdrive pulley set (crank and alt) on my 96 impala and it made a nice difference. I went from a best of 14.01 (Cecil County) to 13.82 (Island Dragway, NJ). What I noticed most is that the car revs up much quicker and 60' was almost a .10 lower on all runs, ie. more low end tq.

Anyone with an LTx engine can simply remove the belt to see what difference it might make. It doesn't add hp, it just lets more get to the rear wheels! ;)
