Cross-reference Manuals?

Is there such a beast as a manual that cross-references common GM parts between models? For example, I need a radiator soon and I find it hard to believe that the one in my 82 was only used on a Corvette. Radiators probably aren't a good example though because only the Camero's will probably fit.

It seems to me that if we can reference the part to a different car, we could save a mint and open up our options.

Look under the CAC 'Pro Shop' under 'Books'... one listed may help: 'Corvette Parts Interchange Manual 1968-1982' by Paul A. Herd

Yep, A similar (if not the same) book is coming up alot on Ebay at the moment. I was also thinking of getting one.. not too expensive also.

Very good book, some errors tho, but all-in-all good cross-references between Corvette, Camaro, Firebird "sameness".

Thanks for the info guys. I'm really getting tired of the smile I get from the parts guys when I say Corvette.

The others' suggestions about books are good ... the "bible" of interchange manuals is "Hollander" ... they're expensive ... same company provides the dBase software that more modern junkyards use. As far as radiators go ... I'm pretty sure you're SOL on a direct interchange from anything but a vette. Yes, there're folks who've used a Camaro rad ... but it may not have been a direct fit.
