Ok is it me or can a tire shop say something when they mess up your car!!!! I purchased new tires last year and now it is time to rotate them, But I encountered a cross threaded lug froze to stud that has spun loose! The M@%!%ker could have at least let me know had I a flat I would of been screwed. So is there a way to tackle this with out damage to stock mags?

Thanks
Michael.

Is the lug itself turning or the stud as well????

If the lug is spinning on the stud, try removing the other lug nuts, then pull out on the wheel while turning the lug and see if you can get the threads to bite on the stud.

The stud is spinnig also!

Try Tuna's method first, by pulling on one side of the wheel it may bind the stud enough to remove the lug nut. Good luck with it.

Thanks guy's I would be up a creek with out CAC. I call this the best pit crew a guy could have besides the extra hands in the labor area:D

Well that's a PITA. As you probably know, the studs have kurled shoulders to hold them into the spindle flange. If one is spinning I wonder how good the hole still is? Another issue I've seen with aftermarket lug nuts is they strip out very easy. Not sure if you have originals or new but all the new nuts I've bought from local chains were chinese junk and no only stripped out but one locked up and snapped the stud. Hopefully the wheel method to hold the nut works. A new stud can be drawn into the flange if the hole is still good.

Cool I wiil try that! I figured out what happened, I had the org. corrvette factory wheel locks (plastic cap with key type) the previous owner lost key and I removed key cap leaving distorted looking lug! I told them a standard socket would fit but they beat one on any way knocking stud loose then cross threading new lug I ordered from Ecklers. the retard's!! they could of told me right!
