Help! cruise control

i am having a problem where my 2004 will not stay in cruise for long before it disconnects. also, dont know if it is related but i think it is.....every so often my active handling kicks in....and this is on nice days, on straight roads doing regular speeds with no brakes being applied...etc..it just actives my active handling. been to my local autozone to use the code getter buy my local store dont have one...lol
any ideas?
