I'm fairly new to the forum, and since Cruisefest is going to be at Mid America, which is only an hour away, I was just curious about it.
I'm seriously contemplating attending.
How big of an event is this? I mean, how many cars usually show up? How many have registered to date? I'm trying to decide on just driving over for Saturday, or come over Friday and spend the night. (the hotel rates look quite reasonable)

Enlighten me...:upthumbs

Well, we'd like to see 150-200 cars there....however we would be happy to see 75-100. If you are contemplating coming over, we would love to have you. Right now the registrations are slow coming in. Please consider sending in your registration and attending this years CruiseFest. We have lots of great things planned and you certainly can't beat the people.

D, the numbers haven't been updated in over a week, so I don't know exactly where we are. As soon as the registrations are updated I'll post.

Mallet I can tell you from experience on my first CF, SPEND THE NIGHT. I contemplated just driving up for the day events since I was just and hour away also. I am so glad I got the room and stayed. I had just as much fun at the hotel after the days events talking to our fellow CACer's and checking out there corvette's as I did during the day. Besides trying to participate in blender wars and then driving home is not recommended.

Let me second C5y2k's remarks. My first CF was in Colorado Springs and I contemplated driving each day to the events as I am 1 1/2 hours away. I am glad I stayed with the group - made a lot of friends just socializing at the hotel. Register and stay with us, we want you to enjoy the CAC as much as possible, and meeting the members is great.

We're very active in our local Club, and right now it looks like our schedule is open, so I'm thinking that CruiseFest is do-able.
Wifey (snowhite) seems interested, so that's good. I may try to get some of our friends from the Club interested, too.

Normally, we would each drive our own cars. I'm currently doing some mods on my '99 interior, and it probably won't be done by June, and I have vowed to not put as many miles on the '64 this year. So, it looks like I'm riding with the wife in her white vert if we come together. She has some activities with the local support organization she is active in that weekend, but she's unsure if she wants to attend CruiseFest or her other stuff. If I decide to come stag, I will probably drive HER car, so there's a good probability that you'll get to see it.

And, with all modesty, it makes a much better presentation in person.

34 people registered as of about an hour ago. Registrations are coming in much slower than I had hoped/expected.

Is the fest just for this forum? Or are there others too?

Open to anyone, of course we'd like for them to join CAC as a member (no cost)

Just a note here to everyone. We are moving closer to CruiseFest. If you are planning on attending please send in those registrations and get your motel reservations made.

MAM is advertising for the CruiseFest and hopefully that will entice more people to attend. I am thankful for their efforts.

You know the big thing is we have tons of great things planned and basically it's all FREE. Paul Koerner (Not sure I got his name spelled right) C4C5specialist, who is a GM World Class Certified Technician, is going to be there giving seminars and troubleshooting problems....for free. All the other informative seminars, by MAM Staff, Performance Choice, American Car Craft (Corvette accessories) are free. There will be a car show which is free. The BBQ put on by the motel is free. The banquet put on by MAM, our host, is free. A chance to meet some of the original Corvette Action Center members (Chevrolets tech support team from the 1980's). The only thing that is going to cost anyone anything is the Motel which is giving us a GREAT price. Maybe there is a small fee to attend the winery tour (I don't remember exactly). Anyway, if there is going to be an inexpensive CruiseFest, this is going to be the one.

Actually besides the room CruiseFest is costing me a stamp to mail my registration in. :rotfl How much does a stamp cost these days? I haven't snail-mailed anything in years. :W

I addressed my registration envelope to cruisefest@corvetteactioncenter.com sure hope it gets there. :boogie

All grins aside mines going out in the mail today.

Welcome aboard Bob. WE're glad you're here...and we're glad to see you sign up and attend CruiseFest. I look forward to meeting you.
