CT. Carshow

Well it was a beautiful day today . I met Jim 91 Callaway and had a great time at the show . Jim has a very nice car and I am trying to convince him to come to Carlilse. I also met Big John with his Supernatural 435 Collectors edition convertible. There was also an 87 corvette with a Callaway bodykit . At this show they have a Class just for Callaways. Well Big John took 3rd I took 2nd and the Callaway clone took 1st What is wrong with this Picture.Well a good day was had by all. I ran into some of the Callaway folks and Reeves C12.I also had a long talk with Mike Zoner. I met him and his family there. Well he tells me they will be at Carlilse with the crew and also Callaway will have a booth there also. .:Twist

At this show they have a Class just for Callaways.

Pete - In CT, that IS Callaway territory afterall - I wonder what % of Callaways were sold in that general region??

Congrats on the award for both yourself & Big John - Do you have pics??

FWIW- I have noticed in local shows, often the 1st place, is a club members car from the hosting club...

I was also at the Club Corvette of CT show today but, unfortunately, didn't meet Pete. I've found in New England hosting clubs are not allowed to enter into their club's show so there's none of that club members taking trophies! That's the only way it should be!

Glad you guys had a good time. Sorry I could not make it. I just have way too much on my plate right now.

A clone should not even be allowed to enter in a Callaway class let alone win an award... that's just all wrong.

I think you were standing in front of myself and Big john at the awards ceremony We were the two big guys. I think I saw you win 2 trophies.

Elaine - you missed out on meeting another member - Pete's car is tough to miss


re: members entering... I attended a show where a car driven 70 miles to the show won first place... car had debris in certain places, etc. they were members of a "sister club" to the hosting one - courtesy was what was *whispered* as the guy works the regional circuit for annual points:nono

Having seen Pete's Callaway & knowing how fresh it is, I am amazed he didn't place first

How did your GS do in the show?? I have seen pics of your car - CLEAN!!!

this was my first show in 2 yrs

i enjoyed meeting pete. this was my first time out since my stroke. driving my callaway felt wonderfull, and pete made me feel at ease. he even gave me his chair when i became fatigued. driving with only one working arm and a half working leg is quite difficult, but at least i am driving. i did not stay for the judging, crusing seems much more important these days. as far as i was concerned there were only two original TT callaways at the show,
pete's and mine. it was good to meet big john because i was at foxwoods till 3 am. i got home after 4 am. at least my casino losses keep him in callaway's

p.s. pete, how was the callaway tape copy i made you?
