While I'm trying to install this POS fiberglass front bumper, I couldn't raise the bumper structure because there was a rubber cushion that supports the bodywork in the front. It would only go up so far. My local Vette shop said that part doesn't belong in the car, but it was definately in there from the factory. It was bonded in place with the yellow cement that I see in various places on the car. It's made from stiff rubber on one side like an upside-down ice cream cone, on the other is a steel disk that rests on the underside of the front end. I removed it and the front end is far less stable without it. I looked in my manual and didn't see any reference to it but it sure does make a difference in the car. Has anyone else seen this before?
